The Alt Group was founded in 2017 with a mission to ensure that all women have a place in the legal marketplace. With this mission in mind, Alt has created a network of freelance attorneys and paralegals who partner with clients for short and long-term, project-based work. Our clients include small and mid-size law firms, solo practitioners, as well as corporations with legal departments. 

By offering women both flexibility and autonomy, Alt gives them an opportunity to take ownership over their careers and create the kind of work/life balance many have not been able to find in a conventional working framework. 

The Alt Group is uniquely positioned to create successful partnerships between network members and clients as we have several distinguishing characteristics:

  • Our boutique nature allows us to personalize our services to our clients.

  • Our clients have an advantage to use our network on an as-needed basis.

  • We do not demand any service or subscription fees from our clients.

  • Our network members set their own rates, allowing them to demand and receive the compensation they deserve.

  • We are highly selective, accepting fewer than five percent of applicants into our network.

  • Our careful vetting of our network members ensures that all members are eminently qualified for the work they are doing.

  • We do not use algorithms to place lawyers with clients; instead, our clients can rely on our personalized approach to placements.

  • Our hands-on approach allows us to be available to both our network and our clients throughout the length of any project.

  • We have had success in creating lasting partnerships. Over 90% of our network members have remained with the clients they were first partnered with.

In the two years since Alt has been in business, we have established a track record of success. Each year in business has seen an increase in both our clientele and network membership, and many of our new clients have come from referrals. We have successfully partnered twelve lawyers with clients, and the majority of these lawyers are still working with the clients, underscoring the strength of Alt’s network, as well as our ability to create strong partnerships.

The Alt Group has network members and clients all over the country. Because our network members primarily work remotely, our placements and partnerships are not restricted by geography.
